Minute 72 of the match between Spain and Croatia, the score was 1-1 and, in that moment, Del Bosque team were on the top of group D. The referee points the penalty spot after an action between the croatian defender Vrsaljko and David Silva. Spain have the chance the option to take the advantage in the score for the second time in the match after being ahead with Morata goal in the minute 7th of the match. Real Madrid defender, Sergio Ramos, took the responsability of the shoot…and he failured. 15 minutes later Croatia scored the goal of the victory. It was Ivan Perisic, Inter Milan player, who beat David de Gea after a huge run.
The spanish coach repeated the same first eleven than the previous matches with De Gea as goalkeeper, Juanfran, Sergio Ramos, Piqué and Jordi Alba in the defensive line, Busquets, Cesc, Iniesta and Silva as midfielders and Nolito and Morata as more advanced players.
It was not the best match of Spain in the tournament, but even like this, La Roja could have got the three points or, at least one point after the 90 minutes of the game. The first croatian goal at the end of the first half, made by Kalinic neutralized Morata´s goal and sent the spanish team to the changing room with not the best sensations.
In the second half, Spain reduced the intensity (maybe because of the fatigue) and they had not too many options to take advantage in the score for a second time. The croatians follow their initial plan, they worked hard and used the counterattack with more advanced players … and got their reward with a goal from Perisic.
