Real Madrid has won the first title of the season (UEFA Supercup) against Sevilla F.C. The last UEFA Champions League winner and the current Europe League champion played an exciting match in the Lerkendal Stadion of Trondhein,  Norway.

Los Blancos had the ausence of two of their best players: Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale. Also the portuguese defender Pepe missed the match. On the other hand, Sevilla FC with a new coach, a new game style and with the lost of their main players Gameiro and Banega did not face the match in a good moment.

The andalusians started the game with clear intentions to control the tempo of the match and the ball, arguments that are going to be unnegociable during this season for the argentinian coach Sampaoli. Real Madrid decided to do what they do as one of the best: wait for the opponent attack and counterattack. It was really what happened during most time in the match: Chamartin team was waiting for Sevilla FC and Sampaoli team trying to hit them through the ball possesion.

However, was the young player Marcos Asensio who scored the first goal in the match in the 21th minute with an amazing shot from out of the box. Sergio Rico had not a minimal chance to stop it. After the goal, Real Madrid looked like that even reinforced their initial idea: everyone behind the ball, look for recovery it and counterattack as quick as possible. Franco Vazquez equalised the game at the end of the first half. The nervionenses deserved that goal, as they looked for it from the first minute of the game.

In the second half, the scenario of the match was very similar as the first half. Sevilla FC trying to find a space through the ball to create a chance to score and Real Madrid looking for the spaces behind the andalusian lines. In the minute 71th of the match, after an explosive action of Vitolo, Sergio Ramos made a foul over him inside the box. A penalty kick. The ukrainian Konoplyanka did not lose the option and gave Sevilla the lead with the second goal. It seems that even in that situation, Real Madrid did not want (or did not can) control the ball. Sevilla still kept the ball during last minutes of the match while Madrid only could made a couple of good incursions in the andalusians box. And we reach to 92th minute. It was at that moment, after a Sevilla lost ball when Real Madrid found Sergio Ramos head to balance the match.

It seems that Ramos goal and Kolo red card killed mentally Sevilla FC in the extra time. Real Madrid had some good chances to destabilize the match, but was only at the end of the extra time when Carvajal, in a individual action, broke the Sevilla resistance and got the Supercup for Los Blancos.
